You give us a call, of course. We know a lot about many makes and models of dishwashers to ensure that we can fix whatever is broken.

Dishwasher doesn’t turn on

Some simple things that you can check, before giving us a call, is the fuse to the dishwasher area.  If your dishwasher isn’t turning on, there are no lights, no indication of life, it might be a simple fuse at the fuse box blew for whatever reason.  If you find this the case keep an eye on it. Fuses do just flip for whatever reason from time to time, however, if it’s a consistent thing, it should be checked out by a professional.

The dishwasher isn’t cleaning properly

If your dishwasher has worked up to this point and now, for some reason, it’s not cleaning well, check the cleanliness of the dishwasher.  Dishwashers get dirty too and do need some tending too. This is especially important for dishwashers that have hard water running to them.  The hard water scale can build up in the holes of the water spray arms, the bottom drains and even the racks. Hard water is hard on a dishwasher, so keeping it clean is very important.  And, removing all the hard water deposits from the heating elements will allow your dishwasher to heat up the water properly and have proper drying.

Also, check the drain of the dishwasher.  Make sure that the bottom of the dishwasher is clean and free of debris.  Run the dishwasher without dishes to clean it and clear out the drain. Many times there is a simple drain strainer that comes out, but if not, use your hands.

Dishwasher soap shouldn’t be used after about 3 months. Old soap can leave a film on dishes and should be avoided.  And, take a minute to inspect the spray arm, not only does hard water take a toll on it, it could be stuck and not moving properly.  This could be due to a build-up at the top where the arm attaches to the dishwasher as well. Try to spin the spray arm and it should spin freely.

Your Dishwasher is Noisy

Dishwashers all make a bit of noise, this is perfectly normal.  However, if your dishwasher has just recently started making some terrible racket there are some simple solutions for this as well as a possible need for repair.  This could mean a defective pump or other components that are getting hung up somewhere. Some simple things to check would be what is in the dishwasher. if it is full of stemware, for example, the pressure from the spray arm could be rattling around the dishes.  Or the dishes could be preventing the spray arm to rotate properly as well. There are some simple factors that you can check and ensure it’s not something simple and quick.

There are many other things that could go wrong with a dishwasher.  That is why we offer dishwasher repair. When your dishwasher’s handle isn’t latching, for example, take a closer look and ensure there isn’t anything obstructing it.  If the dishwasher is leaking water, there are several points that water comes and goes from a dishwasher so identify if it is in the front or the back. And, if it’s in the front, the front seal around the door may be broken.  Some inlet hoses come in from the front which could crack or the connection could be leaking. It is best to call a certified trained technician for all of your dishwasher repair needs.
